What a weekend. PRODUCE! made lots, did lots and ate lots. This is Malcolm. Malcolm is made from felt, has buttons for eyes and is filled with green split peas. My weekend attempts to buy a sewing machine failed.

Well it’s taken me ages…Been doing a bit of animation when I can at In evenings weekend etc. Just to keep on top of my game. It takes ages. This doesn’t even last 20 seconds! The total hours spent doing this has been about 9 hours. Been playing about with making music to. Just got a new computer so it’s all been fun and games over the past week. Fot this I just shot some video then took it into flash where I drew over each frame…rock on!

It’s Craft night in the Johnson/Lofthouse residence. I got Eliza a making stuff for kids book. As she’s aiming to be a primary school teacher we have loads of art goodies. You name it…sparkly glue, sequins , white glue and pipe cleaners. So I got some more supplies in (some felt sheets and some split peas for filling). MY NAMES ROBERT JOHNSON AND I LOVE TO SEW. There…I’ve said it. Phew. We decided to pick a random from elizas book…

All this was done inkeeping with valentines day to the sounds of barry white…oh yeah

Go see it, loved it. Managed to convince Eliza to go and see it before she found out it was a sci-fi movie. Just to spoil it for everyone here’s what the monster looked like…pretty much…or not really…oooooo it’s all a bit J.J. Abrams.

Took its time, but we made it…well done everyone.

Woohoo a while back me and macca got tickets to go see radiohead on the glasgow green…Chuffed. But recently I stumbled over sketch crawl. One day of every year, all over the world people get together and go on a sketch crawl, just drawing everything they see. Looked great fun. I hardly ever sit down and actually draw stuff. So this year, more drawing. Gonna get myself a decent sketchbook…do it properly. Also after seeing this, it had to be weird fishes.

Awesome day at work just storyboarding stuff. Doodle away they say. Thought for a Change I’d draw stuff up in photoshop. I’m constantly flogging flash for doodles. So today I took risk. Loved it. More for shading really. Got home and Was in the middle of A flash Illustration Instantly binned it and started drawing it in photoshop. Skin colour has never been a particular favourite of mine. Tough to do in vector stuff. Just tried my best to sample actual colours from a photo. Lots of really weird shades I would have never thought to use in vector. Dunno if I can go back to flash now. It does look really weird though. Un-written rule, if you’re going to draw yourself make sure you look stupid…

Totally forgot about this. Stumbled over it playing a game of boggle. Whilst at connect (which was ages ago) I took a wee book with me that I stumbled around with drunk getting people to sign. It was here I spotted Illustrator/ Dj Pete Fowler, He does mad illustrations which you can see at his site Monsterism. He’s been a huge influence on all my stuff. So drunk as I was, I managed to convince him to write something in my book…LOVE IT!
