haggis burgers…yum

Let it be known this is no vegetarian blog. There’s meat all over my blog…very much not looking forward to veggie month. The last of my leftover haggis, mixed with some breadcrumbs and a beaten egg. Served with big chips and a big dollop of mayonaise. Filthy good.

Icey puddles and shorts…not ideal

Johnson is back on the horse. I decided it was icey enough for shorts and went out on a wee adventure. Up and out, just a bit after 10am. First bit of proper exercise this year…shocking. Decided I’d cycle along to bowling it’s along the canal about 8 miles. Nice and easy none of those pesky hills. Took the camera…at onepoint I was going to take a fishing rod…mental. took about an hour to get there kept stopping to take pictures they’re up on flickr you have to cycle about 6 miles before it feels safe enough to take out your camera.

end of the road

Bowling itself is a lovely wee place a nice wee marina and a pub to. Also in the marina with a token beach dog to play with that just ran around like it had no owner, great stuff. It’s only a small place and you’ve kinda left it before you know you’re in it. They have a bike shop there to. Magic cycles. I planned to get some bike cleaning stuff as me + bike were caked in mud…but, it was shut until march…that’s the kinda job you want.

Lots of wildlife along the way, squirrels, foxes, ducks, swans and plenty of chav with some of the biggest meanest looking dogs you’ve ever seen.

sail thru

That’s right…a sail thru. In all the time i’ve been up and down the canal I think I’ve seen one boat on it. NEVER have I seen a boat sail through the sail thru…mission to self…Sail through the sail thru…who’s with me? no? even if it involves inflating a wee dingy in the summer it would be a great gag.

Good fun getting all muddy and feel good for exercise…roll on the longer days of sunshine.

Budge up!

Classic weekend through in Edinburgh, been ages since I’ve been out there. Usual of sitting round drinking beer eating meat followed by more drinking, silly dancing and failed world record attepts. Our 3am efforts of “how many people can you fit in a phonebox?” It’s easy to organise at 3am more than enough people seem more than willing to join in…better than that, you can use the phone to phone in your world record achievement. Happy with out more than modest 7 people! came into work today to find the actual world record stands at 14! could probably get 16 maccas (an actual measurement) in there no problem.

holga b&w film

Well today I got back my holga 120 B&W film. Took ages to take 12 pictures. I was being quite fussy I suppose. Seen a load of great photos taken in the fog using said film. So I had to wait a while but about a week ago it was proper foggy and I got some great pictures…Think I used the whole spool up in one day…spooky. More pics on Flickr. Also, never noticed at the time…check out the silhouette on the roof of the train station…oooooooo

dough!

Still playing with christmas presents…nic bought an uber mixing machine which does everything. Armed with her baking book she got for christmas…it was time. Hard work making your own bread…noted for next time I just go up to the shelf and throw it in the trolley. The first batch was still very much a case of trial and error. But they came out good. Soup tonight…and awesome toasties the rest of the weekend…WOOHOO!

YUMITH!
