Bit slow, not as many gags, eric idles in it but not as good as it could have been and the only really good bit are the dronkeys (above) and they’re not in it that much.

Freaky Photoshop

freaky photoshop

Awesome day at work just storyboarding stuff. Doodle away they say. Thought for a Change I’d draw stuff up in photoshop. I’m constantly flogging flash for doodles. So today I took risk. Loved it. More for shading really. Got home and Was in the middle of A flash Illustration Instantly binned it and started drawing it in photoshop. Skin colour has never been a particular favourite of mine. Tough to do in vector stuff. Just tried my best to sample actual colours from a photo. Lots of really weird shades I would have never thought to use in vector. Dunno if I can go back to flash now. It does look really weird though. Un-written rule, if you’re going to draw yourself make sure you look stupid…

pete fowler monsterism

Totally forgot about this. Stumbled over it playing a game of boggle. Whilst at connect (which was ages ago) I took a wee book with me that I stumbled around with drunk getting people to sign. It was here I spotted Illustrator/ Dj Pete Fowler, He does mad illustrations which you can see at his site Monsterism. He’s been a huge influence on all my stuff. So drunk as I was, I managed to convince him to write something in my book…LOVE IT!

Take your dreamcast for a megadrive

megadrive emulator dreamcast

This is my happy face. I have a few emulators for my mac including a spectrum emulator which is awesome by the way. But this is genius. Recently I dusted off my sega dreamcast (as I occasionally do). Doing a bit of google meandering I discovered that it’s quite a favourite amongst geek boffins. Turns out it’s pretty badly put together and quite easy to hack. So I stumbled upon a cd with 430 megadrive games on it. The good thing is the controller, I have megadrive games on my PC but it’s not the same playing it on a keyboard. This is why I have a happy face. Last night I sat and played desert Strike, Calfornia Games, James Pond, Altered Beast and various games I hadn’t even heard of. It was like Christmas 1992 all over again. Loved it. Also the dreamcast can pretty much emulate anything so tonight I’m playing 500 Amiga games. Rock on!

Pigs can…

if pigs can do it...

A recent flight back from Brighton got me thinking. Flight is awsome…so are rhinos. It’s always amazes when flying. It also really annoys me when you don’t get the window seat and the person that does never even looks out of it. How can you not?. Flight = Awesome. There is also a distict lack of animals that lack flight. So I might do a series of animals that should fly (or maybe have in the past? ooooooooo controversial) and Maybe even some animation as it seems I never get round to it these days.

flash on the beach 07

Just come back from a flash conference in Brighton. Flash on the beach 07 flash geeks and designers from all over the world turn up for a 3 day binge of socialising and geekery. Loved it. Met lots of cool people, drank lots, seen some of brighton but most of all came away inspired. Lots of talks about peoples work, some technical and some just talking through there working methods. These were the ones that really stuck out. Joshua Davis, Robert hodgin, Brendan dawes and Eric Natzke whos talk I didn’t see as I had to get back to work unfortunately. There were loads of good talkers but these were the ones that were the jaw droppers. All in all an amazing trip. Brighton was cool. I’d definately go back, didn’t get much time to explore as the conference chewed up alot of the time.

I went out last night…the bulk of today has been a struggle for food. Salt and vinegar crips and cans of fizzy pop mostly. So I thought I would make something spectacular for my T…Amazing. One massive steak, One huge rustic ciabata with most of the bread removed and toasted, massive flat cap mushrooms, big chunks of onion and some bbq gravy I made from the dregs of various condiments lying at the back of the fridge. I AM MAN!
