Robert Johnsons big silly new years resolutions list 09

Read on

I’m not big on new years resolutions…I struggle to do anything for a week let alone a year. So…with that in mind and for the sake of blogging entertainment and some banter I’m going to do monthly resolutions in the name of science.

JANUARY: Read a series of books
A nice easy start to the year. I don’t do much reading so decided it should be put into kickstarting the new year. The plan…read all the harry potters. This one doesn’t have many cons other than I have to read harry potter.

FEBRUARY: No silly shopping
Tough one but needs to be done. All the shopping must be for essentials food and bits for around the house that’s all. No clothes, no music,no films and NO GAMES. tough.

MARCH: No Booze
think I can manage this one quite easily. Stick to the guns.

APRIL: Packed Lunch/ Home cooking
oooooo No eating out or buying lunch in town. Packed lunch and home cooked meals for my t only. This is more in the interest of cost. See how much I save…if any.

MAY: Unecessary walking
Go for at least 30mins walk everyday with no purpose…trips to shops and walk to train station don’t count. Should be getting lighter by then and I have the canal on my doorstep.

JUNE: No public transport
Crumbs…tough one. Cycle to work everyday…EVERYDAY! zoiks. I’ll be a happy bunny if I manage that one.

JULY: Going Camp
NO NO NO a month of as much camping as I can…rain or shine…Any days where I don’t have work the next day must go camping.

AUGUST: No TV (limited technology)
No TV and limited internetage. Blogging still an essential but no watching films or playing games. Excludes working hours

SEPTEMBER: Vegetarian
Not looking forward to this month that’s for sure. I’m still going to eat fish…DEAL WITH IT. Thought this might increase my awareness of those horrible edible weeds some people live off.

OCTOBER: Old and foreign
If I’ve made it this far I’ll be very impressed. This month is a bit of a breather. Watch only black & white films or foreign ones. I’ve got nothing against either can just normally never really be bothered. This is a bit of an easy one I realise…but a good one all the same.

NOVEMBER: Paper a day
read a newspaper a day…front to back. My choice of newspaper…DEAL WITH IT

DECEMBER: No distraction doodling
Cut out many distractions and do more drawing and maybe make more christmas presents than buy them.

Well that’s the lot. The order is not set in stone. I am going to stick to this and If I don’t I will own up. This is all to increase bloggage and a test of my relatively weak will power.

Months that didn’t make the grade: vegan (nonsense), learn a language (waste of a month), different religion (wizardry apparently isn’t a religion…OUT), wear a suit to work everyday (madness…just madness) and the list does go on. Also if anyone can think of any other good ones feel free to fire them on. COME ON!

You’re challenges are just too much for me. Too much restriction than is good for me, I reckon.

Although already do the paper a day one and am doing the packed lunch one in Jan. Spicy parsnip and carrot soup anyone? Wait – that’s veggie!

Yeah, I’m going to try and stick to it as much a possible. There is going to be alot of soup action on the go in April & September…crumbs.

  7. Macca Says:

    September, maybe I’ll join in.
