Toads are cute...in their own special way. I'm impressed nic...I knew I could rely on someone else to do my homework...much easier

Ok so first of all:
I was having another wee look at Loretta and the problem is that I can't see the wing-cases entirely. See the difference between a bug (Hemiptera) and a beetle (Coleoptera) is the elytra (wing-cases) and whether the wings are completely, or only partially, sheathed.

Ok so secondly. The difference between a frog and a toad is thus:

quite simply...

without going into too much detail...

or talking too much...

one has warts on its skin and one doesn't.

Frogs have a very smooth skin, usually quite nicely coloured and they look slimy.
Toads are a wee bit flatter with warty/bumpy skin and tend to be a bit bigger than frogs.

In conclusion: Frogs are cute. Toads are not.
